Didem Dizdaroğlu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Landscape Architecture, at Istanbul Technical University. She received her BSc and MSc in Landscape Architecture from Istanbul University and Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Turkey, respectively. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Urban Planning, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. Her PhD. This thesis focuses on developing a parcel-level sustainability assessment index using ArcGIS and SPSS software to assist policymakers and planners in investigating the impact of urban development on ecosystems and proposing effective environmental policies for sustainable urban development. She is the recipient of the QUT’s Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award in 2013. She carried out research at the University of New South Wales as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from 2015 to 2016. She has published numerous articles and papers in journals, books, and conference proceedings. One of her co-authored publications received the Largest Number of Highly Cited 2015 Papers in Web of Science Award.
