World Landscape Architecture (WLA) [ Merit Award]

We are pleased to announce that Arda Coşan (ITUPEM’23) has received a Merit Award at the World Landscape Architecture (WLA) Student Awards 2023. Arda's final project, titled "The Anarcheological Dialectis", aims to explore possible variations of integrating the historical land wall system of Istanbul into contemporary flows freed from their dependence on reconstructive measures to prioritize not only conservation purposes but also to create new urban places for catalyzing public life.

The project is an outcome of the Spring 2023 project led by Prof. Dr. Hayriye Eşbah Tunçay and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Akçay Kavakoğlu and assisted by Res. Assist. Lâl Dalay and Res. Assist. Elif Ağaoğlu Yıldırım. We would like to express our gratitude to the guest jury members Assoc. Prof. Dr. İmge Akçaya Waite, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya Güleç Özer, and Dr. Mimar Dürrin Süer. We warmly congratulate Arda on his remarkable achievement and for representing our department at an international level with great success.
